What Is Clinical Hypnosis?

Clinical hypnosis is a scientifically supported technique specifically used to support psychotherapeutic processes.

In a state of focused internal attention — called Trance — helpful images, memories, or new perspectives can become accessible. The application is mindful, goal-oriented, and individually tailored. It enables access to inner resources that are often difficult to reach in everyday life. Hypnosis is not a state of unconsciousness — you remain fully conscious, responsive, and capable of action at all times.

When Can Hypnosis Help?

Clinical hypnosis can be an effective support in many psychological distress situations — such as anxiety, phobias, or internal blockages, depressive moods, psychosomatic complaints, or sleep disturbances. It can also help with persistent tension, exhaustion, rumination loops, decision-making difficulties, or weakened self-esteem by creating new inner access points and enabling change.

In a personal initial consultation, we will determine together whether and how hypnosis can meaningfully support your therapeutic process.

What Hypnosis Is Not

Many people have reservations about hypnosis — often due to stereotypes from movies or stage hypnosis. Clinical hypnosis has nothing to do with this. You remain fully conscious, responsive, and in control throughout the entire session.

Concerns about not being able to be hypnotized are usually unfounded. Trance is a natural state that many people can experience — provided they feel safe and are open to the method.

Clinical hypnosis is also well-researched scientifically and has been successfully used in psychotherapy and medicine for decades.

Billing and Reimbursement Information

Hypnosis sessions are a self-pay service and are billed separately from regular psychotherapy treatment.

If you have private health insurance, partial reimbursement may be possible – depending on your specific plan.

I recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to clarify coverage.

If you are publicly insured, you are welcome to book hypnosis sessions as a self-paying client. You will of course receive a transparent invoice, and I will be happy to provide any necessary documentation to support your communication with your insurance provider.
